Heather & Mike

I woke up an hour before my alarm and checked the weather forcast every half hour.  Clear and sunny.  Perfect.  A great day for a great couple and a great outdoor ceremony!

And the storm clouds roll in…but they make a great backdrop for photos! Heather was a beautiful bride!

Patiently waiting for their photos

Radar showed a storm coming through a few hours before the ceremony.  We decided to wait it out in the gazebo. DSC_9622 DSC_9623

Rain blew in a little bit but luckily we had some human shields…

And it all cleared up.  Kim and I picked up and took a towel to all of the chairs. The radar was CLEAR.  The bridal party finished their outdoor photos.  They all went back to the golf club to wait til ceremony time.  We started to put up the actual decorations…And then the golf club siren went off and the monsoon started.  I don’t often tell a bride her ceremony will be inside.  I like to wait until the last possible moment to call it.  In this case as we were soaked to the bone after cleaning up in the rain and the radar didn’t give a hint that it was coming, I didn’t see much choice.  We called it and set up inside.

Monsoon selfie. Trust me the makeup is long gone at this point. But there’s no one I’d rather work in a monsoon with!

After that we pretty much ran around.  We tried to dry our clothes a bit, then put together a great indoor set up on the dance floor.  The ceremony started a little late but everyone was dry…well almost everyone.  Right before I got the bride to bring her to the ceremony, the golf club weather siren went off again.  After the ceremony started I ran to my car for a change of clothes and it was raining – not as hard but still raining.  I always have a sigh of relief when I know that my gut reaction was on target.  I was so happy to know that we moved the ceremony inside when we needed to, everything went great and they still got to have the outside pictures they really wanted.  Unfortunately, after the rain hit hard and we moved everything…I did not take any pictures!  I got this one shot right before we left of the bird cage for the cards – I do have this available for rental!
